At April. 2nd, our group had a wonderful time at a Hunan cuisine restaurant“Sparrow” to celebrate the birthday of Prof. Gan. He pointed out that the spirit of the gathering is to enhance the cohesion of our research group, and hoping that we can do this 2-3 times a year. All of us enjoyed delicious dishes and lovely songs from our mates. Wish our lovely professor healthy and rich! Do enjoy great photos taken that night!

Shizhen and Longfei awarded Tu GuangChi Fellowships (涂光炽奖）
On Jan the 16th afternoon, Shizhen and Longfei were awarded by the institute the A-level Tu GuangChi Fellowship (涂光炽奖), after an assessment by the top academic panel of the institute. Shizhen was upgraded from B-level to A-level, while Longfei A-level directly. The Fellowship stands for the utmost recognition from the institute to outstanding young scientists, and is named after the founder of the institute, Professor Tu GuangChi, who was a distinguished geologist. Each awarded young scientist will receive a budget of 1 million Yuan for developing their early academic career. The group now has 3 TGC fellows, all in A-level, who are Li Jibing, Zhao Shizhen and Jiang Longfei. Congratulations to Shizhen and Longfei !
Jiang Longfei promoted associate professor
On Dec 23, Longfei (江龙飞) was promoted to associate professor, and become a new permanent staff member of the group. Congratulations!
