Guangcai’s new paper on polyaromatics in Chang’e-5 lunar soil accepted by NC

On April 1, Guangcai’s new paper , entitled ‘Polycyclic aromatics in the Chang’E 5 lunar soils‘ , was accepted by Nature Communications for publication.

It has been a great challenge for us, that it has been 40 months before the final acceptance of the paper. We received the lunar soil samples in Beijing on November 22, 2021, we completed all lab analysis and returned the sample to the authority on June 12, 2023.   We worked out and achieved the success.

Congratulations!

Symposium of New Pollutants

On Dec 9th, Shizhen and Gan attended the Symposium on New Pollutants (新污染物研究与治理大会) which was organized by China Association of Environmental Sciences (中国环境科学学会)and Chinese Research Academy of Environmental Sciences (中国环境科学研究院)in Beijing. Gan gave two invited talks, one on ‘Regional transport and source-sink processes of new pollutants’ , one on ‘An environmental atmospheric  science perspective on new pollutans in the atmosphere’. Shizhen gave a talk on MNPs and TWPs in the urban atmosphere. All the three talks were well received by the audiences who showed great interest in our thinkings and  findings. After the symposium, we had chance to have dinner with Yi Xin (怡欣) and Lin Tian (林田) who were around.

Yi Xin’s dual-carbon isotope methodology paper accepted for publication

Yi Xin’s paper entitled ‘Dual-Carbon Isotope Analysis of Benzene Polycarboxylic Acids for Tracking Black Carbon across Different Environments has been accepted for publication in Applied Geochemistry, and has been selected as a ‘Editor’s Choice’  contribution ( each year AG only selects 10 editor’s choice papers) owing to the high quality of the work, which is also the milestone paper for our compound-specific radiocarbon analysis (CSRA) of polyaromatic organic matter. Congratulations to Yi Xin and Guangcai!
