Tian Lele, Ma Jianchu PhD viva and Li Yifan postgraduate viva

On May 8th, Tian Lele (田乐乐) and Ma Jianchu (马建初) had their PhD viva,  also with Li Yifan (李一凡) had her postgraduate viva smoothly. They  are all members of Air Omic’s Squad(爱米小分队). The assessment panel, composed of An Taicheng (GDUT) Zou Shichun (SYSU), You Jing (JNU) ,Chen Duohong (GDEMC), Bi Xinhui (GIG), Ding Xiang (GIG), and, alternatively, Zhao Shizhen ,Li Jun and Zhang Gan. We celebrated with a dinner in honor of the graduates afterwards. We shared a joyful evening, congratulating Lele, Jianchu, and Yifan on their remarkable achievements and wishing them continued success in their future endeavors. Congratulations!

 

Wang Wanzhe’s 76-Day Oceanic Expedition Ends with Success in Sample Collection and Academic Enrichment

On April 9th, Wang Wanzhe completed his scientific expedition in the eastern Indian Ocean and arrived in Sanya, Hainan. For this expedition, he was aboard the R.V. Xiang Yang Hong 01, operated by the First Institute of Oceanography under the Ministry of Natural Resources. The voyage began on January 24th and concluded successfully on April 9th, lasting a total of 76 days. The research area covered the eastern Indian Ocean.
During the expedition, a variety of samples were collected, including atmospheric samples, seawater, rainwater, and seafloor sediments. These samples have now been safely transported back to the laboratory for further analysis.
For Wang Wanzhe, the expedition was not only a success in terms of collecting the planned samples, but also a valuable opportunity to broaden his academic horizons and make new friends. It was truly an unforgettable experience! Group photo of all the crew members of the R.V. Xiang Yang Hong 01.
