On Jan 6-8th, Kevin Jones of Lancaster-U visited the group. We had several rounds of chats/meals and went for hiking on the top of the Baiyun Mountain. Kevin has been around us for 20 years, and many of us visited him in Lancaster. It is great to meet him in Guangzhou once more, and he will definitely come over and over in the future. Lancaster has become of a typical marker of our group, with legendary lots of stories and memories cherished in minds of the key group members.
On December the 29th, a group of us took pictures and had dinner together farewelling Cheng Xianghui (程相会) and Zhang Zheng’en (张正恩) , who have successfully completed their PhD studies in the group and become of new ‘Doctors’. With their PhD gowns on, the two beautiful ladies took pictures with boys and girls in the group. We had a ‘big’ dinner followed by Kara-OK in a hidden restaurant. Memorable time and memorable moments. We wish them all the best in future life.
From December 1st to 4th, 2024, Gan and Shizhen participated in the 2nd Open Annual Conference on Marine System Science, held at the Zhuhai campus of Sun Yat-sen University. Gan presented a talk titled “The Polycyclic Aromatics Continuum in Atmospheric Particles: From Black Carbon to Brown Carbon”, while Shizhen gave a presentation on “Quantification of Micro- and Nano-plastics’ Contribution to Urban Atmospheric PM2.5”. We extend our sincere gratitude to Haoyu and Professor Zou for their warm hospitality during the conference!
