“Wind-in-his-hair” Intensive Air Sampling Campaign （summer, 2023） Initiated Successfully in Wanshan and Huadu

On August 2nd and August 3rd, a small group led by Shizhen Zhao（赵时真）and Pingyang Li （李平阳）went to 花都竹洞村 and 万山岛, respectively, to set up intensive air sampling sites. Lele Tian（田乐乐）, Jianchu Ma （马建初）, Yingjian Shao（邵英健）and Weiru Wang （王惟儒）also participated in arranging the sampling materials and laying out sampling site at Huadu. Kun He（何坤）and Jianchu Ma （马建初）got involved in setting up sampling site at Wanshan Island (万山岛). We also found great places for Kun and Yingjian to live and work at Wanshan Island and Huadu, respectively. The weather was so hot that all of us were back with sweat streaming down our backs.

“Wind-in-his-hair” Ssampling Campaign at Heshan in Preparation

On July 17th, a small group of Shizhen, Engineer Li, Linbo, Lele, Jianchu and Weiru went to the Heshan air monitoring supersite, to maintain air sampling machines on the rooftop of the station building as well as supply 40 sets of sampling materials for summer sampling campaign. Despite of the heavy rain, we five struggled in the rain to protect Engineer Li and the machines.Finally, all the machines were complished flow correction. We look forward to the approaching sampling campaign.

“Wind-in-his-hair” intensive air sampling campaign consummation and official LOGO publication

From Nov.15 to Dec.21,2022, Yuwei, Yingjian and Chuxin conducted simultaneous sample collection and observation of POPs and POM every day and night at three sampling sites in GIG, Boluo and Heshan Atmospheric Supersite, respectively. Pingyang and Weiru were in charge of CO₂collection and dry and wet deposition in GIG. A total of 737 air samples and 30 deposition samples were successfully collected during this meaningful campaign. This beautiful project logo was designed independently by Weiru and Pro.Zhang also inscribed this logo. (Images 1 below) Let’s enjoy the fascinating scenery captured by our colleagues while sampling!
