Yingjian, Yuwei and Chuxin’s degree viva

On April 30, 英健Yingjian (MSc)、雨薇Yuwei (PhD)、楚鑫Chuxin (PhD) did their degree viva. The assessment committee consisted of Professors Zou Sichun邹世春 of SYSU, Chen Da陈达 of JNU, Zhao Qin赵青 of Guangdong Institute of Ecological Environment and Soil, Li Jun李军 and 罗春玲Luo Chunling of GIG. The three gave nice presentations with confidence, and the defense went on smoothly. We had a party after the viva cerebrating their success. Big congratulations !

Shared Birthday, Double Fun: Celebrating Zhao Shizhen and Shao Yingjian

On June 28, 2025, the Air Omics squad, postdoctoral fellows and Professor Tang Jiao gathered together to celebrate a shared birthday party of Professor Shizhen and student Yingjian. The celebration took place at Xiangzhiyuan, a  genuine Hunan cuisine restaurant.
We prepared beautiful flowers and a delicious birthday cake for the two birthday stars. As everyone enjoyed the cake and chatted together, the room was filled with warmth, laughter, and happiness. It was a joyful evening filled with laughter, great food, and a little birthday luck we all hoped to borrow!

Embark on Indian Ocean Cruise

From January 20 to 21, 2025,  Geng Xiaofei,  Wang Wanzhe, and Shao Yingjian completed final preparations at the Nanshan Port Public Research Dock in Yazhou District, Sanya City, Hainan Province, for a scientific expedition to the Indian Ocean. The mission, aboard the R/V Xiangyanghong 01 (向阳红01) operated by First Marine Institute, Department of Natural Resources aims to collect critical atmospheric and seawater samples to advance understanding of marine carbon cycle and environmental fate of PFAS.
