Celebration of Prof Zou’s new company

On July 20th, a group of us (Gan, Jun, Shizhen, Guangcai, Xiaofei, Yangzhi, Tang Jiao) went to Zhuhai to join in the opening ceremony of the newly established company, the BoAu（博澳） Scientific Instrument Co., Ltd., of which the founder is Professor Zou Shichun （邹世春）, a close friend of our group. Lots of old friends attended, including Professors Qi Shihua （祁士华）of CUG-Wuhan, Frank S C Lee（李顺诚） of HKUST-Guangzhou, Chen Yingjun （陈颖军）of FDU, Tian Congguo （田崇国）of YIC-CAS, Hu Limin（胡利民） of OUC etc.  Haoyu acted as the hostess of the ceremony. Gan is honored to be  invited as the chief advisor for future development of the BoAu company. The company will provide the community sophisticated microwave-based digestion and extraction instruments, and other analytical equipment. We were all very happy to witness the opening of the company, and of cause we will cooperate with it from now on!    After the ceremony, we joined  to visit the Tianqin Centre (天琴中心) of SYSU, saw the big telescope, and enjoyed the picturesque landscape on the hill top.

Microplastic symposium at Wuhan

On June 2-4, Shizhen, Jianchu, Jun and Gan attended the 5th Microplastic symposium held in Wuhan. Wu Chengxi (吴辰熙）who was a CUG-Wuhan PhD student worked with Professor Qi Shihua host the symposium. Both Jianchu and Gan gave talks, which came out to attract a lot of audience. In particular, Jianchu was surrounded by many girl students after his talk. We had time to meet many friends from the CUG-Wuhan for the dinner, after which, we, guided by Hairong, walked along the Yangtze River in the evening neon lights. Shizhen was exited to meet so many colleagues working in the area of microplastics. A nice meeting!

Air-Omics、ANSO、合作交流

Meeting on potential collaboration with Brazil

On Feb 28, Shizhen and Gan had a Zoom meeting with Dr Yago Guida of Rio University of Brazil, and Roland Webber who is a distinguished international POPs expert. We talked about the expanding of our ANSO Air-Omic network to Brazil (Rio Janeiro); and we would help Brazil to investigate the HCBD contamination in  three hotspots across the eastern coast of Brazil. This has been a nice meeting come out to be very promising and successful. It was 20:00pm in Guangzhou, 13:00pm in Germany, and 09:00am in Rio Janeiro ! All best to our international reach out.
