Tang Jiao publishes in STOTEN

Tang Jiao’s new paper ‘Molecular signatures and formation mechanisms of water-soluble chromophores in particulate matter from Karachi in Pakistan‘ was recently published in STOTEN; and it was of Karachi, Pakistan! Congratulations!

  • EEM-PARAFAC identified two humic-like and one phenolic-like component in Karachi.
  • Humic-like components consist of molecules with higher aromatic and oxidative degrees.
  • Humic-like component with a longer emission maximum largely contributes to WS-BrC.
  • Oxidation processes are important pathways for the formation of humic-like components.

New members join in! Third year of Air-Omics Squad fish plan(“咸鱼”计划) with surprises

During Dec 26-28, the Air-Omics Squad (“爱米小分队”) completed the third year of fish plan (“咸鱼”计划) with the freshman and  international members: Yifan, Nigar and William. We also have Yingjian and Mengqiu with us. Under the guidance of veterans, the students were divided into groups, equipped with gloves, masks, knifes, and enthusiasm to cut the fish samples. What a richly staffed group for such meaningful programme!

Chuxin attended academic forum for postgraduate in GIG

On December 7th, Chuxin participated in the graduate student academic forum in GIG, giving a report entitled “Polyaromatic organic matter (POM) is the main toxic, light-absorbing and fluorescence-producing component in the liposoluble component of particulate matter emitted from typical atmospheric sources in China”, and finally won the third prize. Congratulation!!!
