Prof. Gan’s birthday party

At the last day of March, our group gathered at the “Dongting Country Bistro” to surprise our beloved teacher Gan on his birthday. After a great feast, the atmosphere reached new heights as we started the talk show and after-dinner singing ,serenading Prof. Gan with laughter and arrays of heartful songs. It’s been a long time since everyone’s been together, and it was really meaningful to capture so many joyful pictures. Wish our lovely professor wellness, rich and happly forever!

Adeel visited the group

Adeel Mahmood came to visit us on March 25-27th. He worked in the group from 2013-2017, as a visiting PhD student and then PIFI PDRF. He was appointed the head of department of environmental sciences in Government College Woman University of Pakistan. It is very nice to see him again after 7 years!

Meeting on potential collaboration with Brazil

On Feb 28, Shizhen and Gan had a Zoom meeting with Dr Yago Guida of Rio University of Brazil, and Roland Webber who is a distinguished international POPs expert. We talked about the expanding of our ANSO Air-Omic network to Brazil (Rio Janeiro); and we would help Brazil to investigate the HCBD contamination in three hotspots across the eastern coast of Brazil. This has been a nice meeting come out to be very promising and successful. It was 20:00pm in Guangzhou, 13:00pm in Germany, and 09:00am in Rio Janeiro ! All best to our international reach out.
