On January 25th, Vahab made his PDRA final report over a group of professor panel members. Included in the panel were Zou Shichun of SYSU, Tang Jianhui of YIC, Li Jun, Hu Jianfang and Song Jianzhong of GIG. Vahab has been working as a postdoctoral research fellow for almost 5 years and contributed to our institute. Now he plans to go back to Iran and find a job to start his new journey. Zhu Ying visit GIG and gave a lecture
On Jan 18th, Prof. Ying Zhu (朱樱）came to GIG and gave a lecture about her high-resolution modeling of multi-media environmental fate of organic pollutants at national scale. Prof. Shizhen was the host today, and Prof. Ying and her were in the same group during their PhD. The topic of the lecture centered around advancements of Prof. Ying’s three model: SESAME V3.4, DEFT and SESAME-Crop (in preparation). Moreover, the lively discussion and Q&A session that followed the lecture highlighted the interest and enthusiasm her research has generated. Overall, Professor Ying’s visit has left an indelible mark on our group. We are grateful for the opportunity to learn from someone as esteemed and knowledgeable as Prof. Ying, and we look forward to implementing her insights in our future research endeavors.

New members join in! Third year of Air-Omics Squad fish plan(“咸鱼”计划) with surprises
During Dec 26-28, the Air-Omics Squad (“爱米小分队”) completed the third year of fish plan (“咸鱼”计划) with the freshman and international members: Yifan, Nigar and William. We also have Yingjian and Mengqiu with us. Under the guidance of veterans, the students were divided into groups, equipped with gloves, masks, knifes, and enthusiasm to cut the fish samples. What a richly staffed group for such meaningful programme!
