Trip to Bangladesh

During November 11–17, 2024, Gan, Jun, and Shizhen visited Bangladesh at the invitation of Prof. Habib from the University of Dhaka. The journey included a cruise to Sundarbans National Park, departing from Khulna, home to the world’s largest mangrove forest, often called the “Great Wall of the Sea.” Over three days, they conducted fieldwork, collecting sediment, soil, and water samples within the unique ecosystem of the Sundarbans. After the cruise, they traveled to Bogura, Prof. Habib’s hometown and an ancient city rich in history and culture. Prof. Habib also gifted Shizhen a beautiful sari. During their time in Bogura, they had the unexpected opportunity to explore the Bangladesh Agricultural Research Institute (BARI). Following this, they visited the University of Dhaka and had a meeting with the Vice President. The visit was also featured in the university’s news portal: University of Dhaka News.   It was an unforgettable trip, and they deeply appreciate the tremendous support and hospitality provided by Prof. Habib.
