The mission, aboard the R/V Xiangyanghong 01 (向阳红01) operated by First Marine Institute, Department of Natural Resources aims to collect critical atmospheric and seawater samples to advance understanding of marine carbon cycle and environmental fate of PFAS.

Tang Jiao publishes in STOTEN

Tang Jiao’s new paper ‘Molecular signatures and formation mechanisms of water-soluble chromophores in particulate matter from Karachi in Pakistan‘ was recently published in STOTEN; and it was of Karachi, Pakistan! Congratulations!

  • EEM-PARAFAC identified two humic-like and one phenolic-like component in Karachi.
  • Humic-like components consist of molecules with higher aromatic and oxidative degrees.
  • Humic-like component with a longer emission maximum largely contributes to WS-BrC.
  • Oxidation processes are important pathways for the formation of humic-like components.

Yi Xin and Tingting PhD viva

On Nov the 11th, Yi Xin  (怡欣) and Li Tingting (李婷婷)had their PhD viva smoothly as planed. Both of them prepared for the event carefully and performed greatly. The assessment panel included professors Chen Yingjun (Fudan-U), Bao Rui (OUC), Tian Chongguo (YIC), Chen Duohong (GDEMC), and, alternatively, Jun Li and Gan Zhang.  We had a cerebration dinner together afterwards. Congratulations, Drs Yi and Li !
