On May 13, William Arko had his PhD confirmation defense in GIG. The assessment panel included Profs Lee Sun-chueng of HKPolyU, Zou Sichun of SYSU, Qi Shihua of CUG (Wuhan), Shizhen, Jun Li and Gan Zhong of GIG. William will be working on POPs in the air of Ghana with specific concern on the influence from e-waste recycling activities in Accra and Kumasi. Hope he good luck with his PhD study!
On Jan.9,2023, the Air-Omics Squad(“爱米小分队”) had a wonderful party after postgraduate students’ work retrospect meeting to celebrate the great progress of this year’s study and hard work of the teachers and students. We also had Dengxin with us who is a junior student from South China Normal University. We had special Yunnan cuisine at a lovely restaurant. New Year’s greetings to all who read this news. Happy new year to everyone! Wish our group thriving and prosperous!
During Dec2-6,2022, the Air-Omics Squad(“爱米小分队”) started the second year of their fish plan(“咸鱼”计划). Unlike last year, this year’s event has new members: Ruiling, Kun he, and Weiru. Yingjian didn’t show up because of his field work in Boluo, what a pity! All the fish samples came from the same places as last year.
