Farewell Dr. William Arko

On July 17, our dear friend William was about to leave China and return to his hometown of Accra. To bid him farewell, we gathered at the Sampling Building to capture many precious moments together. We also signed a farewell card filled with personal messages and heartfelt wishes, hoping that his journey ahead would be smooth and successful. Later in the evening, we held a warm  dinner party to celebrate the time we spent together. As a final gesture, we presented William with the group photo as a token of our memories. We heartedly wish him success in Ghana and happiness in all his future endeavors!

William in his PhD gown

On June 22, William put on his PhD gown on CUG-Wuhan campus. He received his PhD certificate from the CUG president  (upper-left), and happily took pictures with his CUG supervisor Professor Qi Shihua (lower-left), who has ben and will be a forever member of our group. We circulated the pictures and all enjoyed sharing his great success in pursuing the PhD degree. He has been staying with us from 2019 until now, really a distinguished group member! Congratulations!

Three Graduates Celebrate at Degree Conferment Ceremony

On the morning of June 9, three graduates, Tian Lele(田乐乐), Ma Jianchu(马建初) and Li Yifan(李一凡), from the Air-ormics Group attended their degree conferment ceremony, officially marking the completion of their academic journey. Director Wang Qiang (王强) presided over the ceremony, performing the tassel-turning ritual and presenting the diplomas, symbolizing their formal graduation.

Following the ceremony, Professor  Gan and Professor Shi Zhen, along with all members of the Air-ormics Group, joined the three graduates for commemorative photos at several significant locations: the Sampling Building lobby, the bulletin board of the published papers by the group, and in front of the “Old Comrade” instruments—a cherished tradition within the research group. The event not only celebrated the graduates’ achievements but also reinforced the strong bonds and enduring traditions of the group.
