Wang Wanzhe’s 76-Day Oceanic Expedition Ends with Success in Sample Collection and Academic Enrichment

On April 9th, Wang Wanzhe completed his scientific expedition in the eastern Indian Ocean and arrived in Sanya, Hainan. For this expedition, he was aboard the R.V. Xiang Yang Hong 01, operated by the First Institute of Oceanography under the Ministry of Natural Resources. The voyage began on January 24th and concluded successfully on April 9th, lasting a total of 76 days. The research area covered the eastern Indian Ocean.
During the expedition, a variety of samples were collected, including atmospheric samples, seawater, rainwater, and seafloor sediments. These samples have now been safely transported back to the laboratory for further analysis.
For Wang Wanzhe, the expedition was not only a success in terms of collecting the planned samples, but also a valuable opportunity to broaden his academic horizons and make new friends. It was truly an unforgettable experience! Group photo of all the crew members of the R.V. Xiang Yang Hong 01.
