The Fifth Year of the “Fish Plan” — We Are Always on the Journey

From February 4th to 6th, the Air-Omics Squad(“爱米小分队”) efficiently completed the 2025 Fish Plan(“咸鱼”计划) ,marking another significant milestone in the team’s five-year journey of continuous research efforts. This year’s project brought together a blend of experienced veterans and enthusiastic new members, including fresh participants Yuxin, Hangyi, and Qijing. The team was divided into two groups, working in Lab 206 and Lab 409 respectively. All members were equipped with gloves, masks, and knives, and carried out the procedure under strict quality control protocols with exceptional dedication.

The Fish Plan once again demonstrated the outstanding teamwork and execution capabilities of the Air-Omics Squad. We look forward to embracing the challenges of the sixth year with even greater enthusiasm and a proactive attitude, aiming to achieve even more remarkable accomplishments!

Shared Birthday, Double Fun: Celebrating Zhao Shizhen and Shao Yingjian

On June 28, 2025, the Air Omics squad, postdoctoral fellows and Professor Tang Jiao gathered together to celebrate a shared birthday party of Professor Shizhen and student Yingjian. The celebration took place at Xiangzhiyuan, a  genuine Hunan cuisine restaurant.
We prepared beautiful flowers and a delicious birthday cake for the two birthday stars. As everyone enjoyed the cake and chatted together, the room was filled with warmth, laughter, and happiness. It was a joyful evening filled with laughter, great food, and a little birthday luck we all hoped to borrow!

Trip To Ziquejie Terraced Fields

From March 19 to 23, 2025, the “Soil Excavation Team”, comprising Fan, Buqing, Lingxiao, Kun, and Chuxin, conducted fieldwork at the Ziquejie Terraced Fields in Loudi City, Hunan Province. Renowned as a UNESCO-designed Globally Important Agricultural Heritage Site, these 2000-year-old terraces integrate ancient rice-farming practices with a unique natural irrigation system.Captured at 1000-meter elevation of Ziquejie Terraced Fields, from left to right: Kun, Buqing, Chuxin, Lingxiao, Fan
