Six-day Travel in Bangladesh

From September 18 to 24, He Kun visited the University of Dhaka in Bangladesh at the invitation of Professor Ahsan Habib, as part of the Research Project of the Alliance of International Scientific Organization (ANSO) – Monitoring and Risk Assessment of Air Toxicants (MORATOXA). The purpose of this visit was to repair the medium flow sampler placed at the University of Dhaka, transfer and bring back 55 sets of atmospheric samples, 42 sets of dust and 24 sets of human-haired samples collected, clean the sampling container and refill with clean sampling material, discuss existing research progress and further sampling plans, and promote substantive exchanges and cooperation between the two sides. During the visit, Kun had the opportunity to experience local traditions and cuisine. Kun also met with Professor Ahsan Habib’s research group and other colleagues, gaining valuable insights and knowledge.

“Wind-in-his-hair” Intensive Air Sampling Campaign (summer, 2023) Initiated Successfully in Wanshan and Huadu

On August 2nd and August 3rd, a small group led by Shizhen Zhao(赵时真)and Pingyang Li (李平阳)went to 花都竹洞村 and 万山岛, respectively, to set up intensive air sampling sites. Lele Tian(田乐乐), Jianchu Ma (马建初), Yingjian Shao(邵英健)and Weiru Wang (王惟儒)also participated in arranging the sampling materials and laying out sampling site at Huadu.  Kun He(何坤)and Jianchu Ma (马建初)got involved in setting up sampling site at Wanshan Island (万山岛). We also found great places for Kun and Yingjian to live and work at Wanshan Island and Huadu, respectively. The weather was so hot that all of us were back with sweat streaming down our backs.

So many stuffs well arranged by Lele.

One-day exploration on Wanshan Island

On July 19th, the Air-Omics Squad(爱米小分队) along with Guizhen Fang( 方贵桢) from Sun Yat-sen University investigated the marine environment monitoring station as a viable air sampling site at Wanshan island (万山岛). Upon arrival, we indulged in delicious fresh seafood recommended by Fang, savoring the island experience. Great views of the sea shore could be perfectly captured on the roof top of the sampling site.  After fully investigated, we hopped on a sightseeing vehicle and embarked on a comprehensive tour of the island. The winding roads and picturesque landscapes unfolded before our eyes, offering glimpses of the island’s natural scenery. Hope to visit here again!
