On Jan the 16th afternoon, Shizhen and Longfei were awarded by the institute the A-level Tu GuangChi Fellowship (涂光炽奖), after an assessment by the top academic panel of the institute. Shizhen was upgraded from B-level to A-level, while Longfei A-level directly. The Fellowship stands for the utmost recognition from the institute to outstanding young scientists, and is named after the founder of the institute, Professor Tu GuangChi, who was a distinguished geologist. Each awarded young scientist will receive a budget of 1 million Yuan for developing their early academic career.  The group now has 3 TGC fellows, all in A-level, who are Li Jibing, Zhao Shizhen and Jiang Longfei.
