Recently, the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences announced the 2019 “Chinese Academy of Sciences Zhu Liyuehua Outstanding Teacher Award” and Prof. Gan is one of the prizewinners. Congratulations!
The “Zhu Liyuehua Outstanding Teacher Award of the Chinese Academy of Sciences” is awarded to teachers who are engaged in postgraduate education at the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences and various institutes. In 2019, a total of 100 winners were selected.
On 27th of March, Gan was invited to give a keynote speech on SEW-REAP closing conference jointly hosted by Lancaster University, South China Agricultural University (SCAU) and GIG. He talked about ” Personal perspective on pollution issues and priorities – air, soils, waters'” in the “Pollution” section chaired by Kevin and Silvia. SEW-REAP project is funded by the EU and aimed to “Addressing food Security, Environmental stress and Water by promoting multidisciplinary Research EU And China Partnerships in science and business”.
On November 18-23, upon the invitation from Chaipattana Foundation of Thailand, Lucy and Gan attend the International Conference on Environment, Livelihood and Service (ICELS 2018) which took place in CW Tower, Bangkok. Gan gave a keynote speak on ‘Fate of POPs in Asia and nexus’. The two acted as chairs in different sessions. They also visited Pasicha in Chulalongkorn University where they met Professor Wadina Jinsart, head of department of environmental sciences and discussed on future collaboration potentials. The trip ended with a visit to Lam Pak Bia wetland and Amphawa water market.
It was a nice talk.
