On June 6, many group members came to Yuyinshanfang (余荫山房) to celebrate and witness the graduation of Nigar (PhD), Bolong (PhD,张伯龙), Jiali (MSc, 徐佳栎) and Guoqing (MSc, 官国庆). This serial event has been the ‘official’ ceremony of our group, and we will insist on managing it. It is one of the greatest and most exiting moments for the four awardees, that with the degree gowns on it denotes a success and highlight milestone in their lifetime. Congratulations!
Microplastic symposium at Wuhan
On June 2-4, Shizhen, Jianchu, Jun and Gan attended the 5th Microplastic symposium held in Wuhan. Wu Chengxi (吴辰熙)who was a CUG-Wuhan PhD student worked with Professor Qi Shihua host the symposium. Both Jianchu and Gan gave talks, which came out to attract a lot of audience. In particular, Jianchu was surrounded by many girl students after his talk. We had time to meet many friends from the CUG-Wuhan for the dinner, after which, we, guided by Hairong, walked along the Yangtze River in the evening neon lights. Shizhen was exited to meet so many colleagues working in the area of microplastics. A nice meeting!
Yi Xin’s dual-carbon isotope methodology paper accepted for publication
Yi Xin’s paper entitled ‘Dual-Carbon Isotope Analysis of Benzene Polycarboxylic Acids for Tracking Black Carbon across Different Environments‘ has been accepted for publication in Applied Geochemistry, and has been selected as a ‘Editor’s Choice’ contribution ( each year AG only selects 10 editor’s choice papers) owing to the high quality of the work, which is also the milestone paper for our compound-specific radiocarbon analysis (CSRA) of polyaromatic organic matter. Congratulations to Yi Xin and Guangcai!
