On March 18, Pingyang平阳’s paper ‘Drivers and implications of declining fossil fuel CO2 concentrations in Chinese cities revealed by radiocarbon measurements‘ was formally accepted for publication in ACP. The paper was selected as a highlight paper by the editors. It has been a long journey, and big congratulations！
On January 16 and 29, Buqing and Pingyang have reports on their PDRA, respectively, over the assessment committees. Both of them did good jobs and contributed to the development of the group and the State Kay Laboratory. Specifically, Buqing pioneers in compound-specific radiocarbon analysis (CSRA) of molecular organic tracers in the environment, and Pingyang joined to pioneer the measurement and application of 14CO2 for urban and regional green house monitoring and audit. Buqing becomes a research staff in the institute, and Pingyang going to work in Guangxi Academy of Environmental Sciences. We hope them a better future.
On August 2nd and August 3rd, a small group led by Shizhen Zhao（赵时真）and Pingyang Li （李平阳）went to 花都竹洞村 and 万山岛, respectively, to set up intensive air sampling sites. Lele Tian（田乐乐）, Jianchu Ma （马建初）, Yingjian Shao（邵英健）and Weiru Wang （王惟儒）also participated in arranging the sampling materials and laying out sampling site at Huadu. Kun He（何坤）and Jianchu Ma （马建初）got involved in setting up sampling site at Wanshan Island (万山岛). We also found great places for Kun and Yingjian to live and work at Wanshan Island and Huadu, respectively. The weather was so hot that all of us were back with sweat streaming down our backs.
