From 31 October to 1st November, we carried out the first sampling campaign of the GeoBBC program in Dongjiang River. The first sampling site is Huangtian Reservoir, Dongjiang River (Yihe Hydropower Station), where we collected 50 L of surface water and surface sediments. After that, we explored other sampling sites along the Dongjiang River for the preparation of the upcoming large-scale sampling. Participants including Prof. ZHANG GAN, Prof. LI JUN, Prof. ZHAO SHIZHEN, Prof. SUN YANMIN, HU ZHICHENG and GENG XIAOFEI, enjoyed this campaign very much. In addition to precious samples, we also harvested the pleasant scenery and graceful mood along the way. The jade-green bamboo grove, the snow-white reeds sea, our heart beguiles. The intoxicating scenery triggered Prof. Zhang’s poetic sentiment. There is an exquisite poem created by Prof. Zhang:

塘坝山湾远，
轻舟陌岸横。
灵芝称小院，
喧竹挹江青。
忽报台风至，
忍兴启归程。

Hongxing and Tang Jiao jointly publish a new paper in ES&T Letter, entitled ‘Molecular Signatures and Sources of Fluorescent Components in Atmospheric Organic Matter in South China‘. Congratulations!
Lin Tian and Zhao Zhen visit the group
On August 24-26, Lin Tian and Zhao Zhen came back to pay a visit to the group for a discussion of collaboration between the two bodies. They visited the lab, and of cause had dinners and lunches together with several group members. They have at moment two MSc students visiting the group, and suppose to send more in the future. Time goes by and they stay well and have done well with their jobs in Shanghai Ocean University. In the picture there is Li Jing who the same as Zhao Zhen stayed in HZG in Germany with Dr Xie Zhiyong （谢志勇）; and Weiru one of whose teachers in Chongqing University was Wang Fengwen（王锋文） who studied with Professor Guo Zhigang （ 郭志刚）, as Lin Tian did.
