Newton Guangdong Urban Innovation Workshop

On 22nd of December 2012, Yangzhi and Shizhen attended the Newton Guangdong Urban Innovation Workshop hold by GDST and British Consulate in Guangzhou Garden Hotel. 9 projects presented their current progress and future plan. Yangzhi also gave s talk on our project titled “Intraurban air pollution exposure prediction: a smart platform and applications using land-use regression model”, represneting both Chinese and British team. After presentations, topics on identifying synergires betweeen projects and overcoming barriers to success and SWOT analysis of UK-GD collocation were lively discussed.

Yangzhi was giving a presentation.
On-the-spot workshop.

LUR Project Meeting

On the 6th of Nov 2019, LUR project annual meeting was held in GIG. Members of both the Chinese team and British team attended the meeting, including Gan Zhang, Yangzhi Mo, Shizhen Zhao (GIG), Douglas Booker (NAQTS), Kevin Jones (Lancaster University), Duohong Chen, Jin Shen (GEMC), Bin Feng, Yi Sun (Bojin Ltd).  Yangzhi presented the main achievements of LUR project and future plan. Shizhen briefly introduced the progress of an on-going passive air sampling campaign aimed at developing LUR model for PAHs. Sunyi from Bojing Ltd. presented multiple developed versions of platforms for predicting intraurban environment exposure. We also worked out the solutions to the existing issues and discussed possible joint publications.  In the evening, we had some relaxed time in the waterfront of Haixinsha.

LUR Project progress meeting

On March 29, a workshop meeting was held at BBL 728 for reviewing the progress and planning next step work. Kevin, Scot, and Doug on Lancaster side, Feng Bin from Boxin Inc,  and representatives from GD Environ. Monior. Centre attended the meeting. Mo Yangzhi gave a detailed report on current progress in low-cost sensor calibration work; Feng Bin reported on land-use, population and traffic data collection; GDEMC introduced their mobile observation van. Shizhen, Li Jun and Gan presented. The progress of LUR by far has been successful, and we hope Yangzhi become of an expert in LUR.

The LUR project aims at using land-use regression model to predict air quality at intra-urban district scale.  It is one of our successful bid for Urban-Innovation Programme launched by Guangdong and UK.

Yangzhi is making great contribution to the LUR project.
