Heidelore Fiedler

On May 21, Professor Haidelore Fiedler  (Heidi) of Orebro University, Sweden, visited SKLOG. Heidi is also a distinguished professor in Tsinghua University associated with Prof  Yu Gang’s group. She worked for more than 15 years in UNEP/chemicals as a project officer and had contributed greatly to the Stockholm Convention in particular on developing the toolkit for dioxin inventory and the global monitoring programme of POPs (GMP). Heidi gave a talk entitled ‘Implementation of POPs convention with emphasis on chemical analysis’.  Heidi is a Germany in origin, and was exited to talk with Jin Biao in Germany. She is happy to contribute to our next step development in the MSR on GMP.

Zhang Xiangyun PhD viva

On May 20, Zhang Xiangyun (张向云)succeed with his PhD viva. The viva took venue at BBL 619. Professor Chen Yingjun (FDU, panel chair), Zhang Yanlin (NUIST), Wang Xinming, Bi Xinhui and Hu Jianfang as panel members. Xiangyun did great job in establishing an OC/EC separation method using catalytic hydropyrolysis (HyPy) technique. Congratulations, Dr Zhang Xiangyun!

POPs Forum 2019 in Guangzhou

On May 16-18, Gan, Biao, Wenwen, Huanfang, Lele, Liu Yi and Shizhen attended the POPs Forum 2019 hold in Guangzhou. Biao gave two presentations, one is on the isotope fractionation of dibromoethane degradation and another is about the PMOCs. Wenwen also presented her recent work on the nitrosamine pollution in Pearl River. This is also the first time for Lele and Liu Yi to attend an academic conference.
