Dai Qing, Xiaofei and Su Tao did their thesis confirmation (20151008)

On October 8th, Dai Qing, Xiaofei and Su Tao did their thesis confirmation. Professors Peng Xianzhi, Bi Xinhui, Ran Yong, Luo Chunling, Jun Li and Zhang Gan made up the assessment panel. The professors gave pertinent advices on the research plans for their PhD and MSc thesis （开题报告）. It was also a specially themed group meeting.

the 8th NCEC

Group people and former members attended the 8th NCEC

Nov. 5-8th, 2015

Most of the group people and former members attended the 8th National Conference on Environmental Chemistry (the 8th NCEC) in Baiyun International Convention Center in Guangzhou Nov. 5-8th, 2015. The topic of conference was “Innovation and Development in Environmental Chemistry”. It was a super big meeting with more than 4000 attendees. The conference was operated by South China University of Technology. Professors Zhang Gan, Li Jun and Luo Chunling gave oral presentations on sessions of environmental analysis, atmospheric environmental chemistry and soil environmental chemistry separately. Dr Song Mengke showed an attractive poster on application of DNA-SIP in BaP biodegradation.

Kimitaka Kawamura

Professor Kimitaka Kawamura from Hokkaido University visited the group. (2015.11.07)

(Kimitaka Kawamura, Fu Pingqing and Zhang Yanlin visited GIG on Nov 7th 2015)

Kimitaka Kawamura is a professor of chemistry in Hokkaido University. He visited our group and the VOC group, with his former postdoc Fu Pingqing and present postdoc Zhang Yanlin, on November 7th. His research mainly focus on physical and chemical property of aerosols, organic species composition, distribution, origin, transformation and long-range atmospheric transport, as well as climate effect.He has published nearly 300 publications in mainstream journals including Atmos. Chem. Phys, J. Geophys. Res. Atmos., and Environ. Sci. & Technol. His work was cited by other scholars in SCI-indexed journals near 10,000 times.

k1Professor Kawamura gave a lecture titled “Decadal and seasonal distributions of low molecular weight dicarboxylic acids and related compounds, and inorganic ions in the marine aerosols from the western North Pacific”.
